Programme

During European Choir Games there will be music everywhere. Concerts at Partille Arena, competitions in the church Domkyrkan and at Stora Teatern, a parade through the city and street music on Gothenburg Culture Festival, just to mention a few examples. The competitions and most of the concerts are free of charge and open to everyone, but for a few of the concerts tickets will be sold.

We have now published the inauguration- and closing concerts, see below. This list will gradually grow since the whole programme in detail is not yet set, but here is a programme overview (pdf).

Friendship Concerts

All around the city of Gothenburg and in the region you will notice the festival atmosphere, for example through Friendship Concerts. These concerts bring a unique possibility for choirs of different nations to get together and create music. Dates and places for the Friendship Concerts will be announced later this spring.

Opening and closing

As main act for the opening ceremony August 3rd we are happy to present the Bohuslän Big Band. They will perform together with 450 choir singers in a unique Abba medley. For the closing ceremony we will have the Gothenburg Symphony on stage accompanying up to 500 choir singers from all around the world in a powerful musical theme concert. The opening and closing concerts are held in Partille Arena and tickets will be released in March.

Parade of nations

Traditionally, all choirs being part of the festival join into a parade through the host city. The parade will take place August 7th and ends with an outdoor concert at Kungstorget, Gothenburg. More information about hours and routes comes later this spring.
